mist cooling - Some Key Advantages of Mist Cooling Systems

Needless to say, extreme heat conditions can lead to physical fatigue, exhaustion and dehydration. In hot summer days, you are prone to dry skin, pimples, constipation, loose motions and headache due to the scorching heat. But what to do avoid heat? Well, you have to opt for a mist cooling system to keep you and your family safe from the hot and humid conditions. Mist systems will not only bring down temperature of your area, but they will also remove dust, flying insects such as flies, mosquitoes and bad odor from your home. They can bring down temperature as much as 30 degrees to cool your place.

When it comes to choosing outdoor cooling systems, there generally three categories- high-pressure misting systems, mid pressure and low pressure mist systems. Cooling products with high-pressure systems are extremely effective in lowering the temperature at an outdoor patio by up to 30 degrees. They often come equipped with a patented ceramic nozzle that quickly converts water into fine mist, which evaporates in the air immediately to provide users with cool breeze. The high-pressure misting fans enable you and your family to relax and spend long time while chatting, playing or just sitting. This is why mist systems are now commonly used across the world to reduce heat and in turn cool a place.

Mist cooling systems are chosen for various applications. They are often used where the maximum cooling is needed. Outdoor cooling systems are ideal for places such as residential complexes, restaurants, amusement parks, playgrounds, sports stadium, greenhouses, warehouses, hotels, fairs, and resorts to mention a few. Mist products with low-pressure pump are recommended mostly for household use, not for commercial or industrial purposes. If you require cooling at industrial units, you need to choose high-pressure cooling devices. High-pressure systems can more effectively control odors, insects, fire, smoke, frost and dust. They are the most effective devices for greater cooling effect.

One of the chief advantages of high-pressure misting cooling systems is that they can drop air temperature by a whopping 35 degrees. Another added advantage of using them is that they will drive away many insects like mosquitoes, flies, wasps, hornets, cockroaches, and spiders from the area. They not only clean the surrounding area from dust, smoke, and other common pollutants, but they also bring immense relief to pets, individuals, livestock and plants suffering from oppressive heat. Outdoor cooling systems are great to cool people at sporting events, hotels and fairs. They are commonly used in warehouses to cool various types of items and workers. The best thing is that they are less expensive to install and equally less costly to operate compared to air-conditioners. They consume less electricity than air conditioning. Real Estate Moves and the Falcon Has a Baby! | Real Estate Royalty

The last 30 days have been very busy (and interesting) times for the Chicago Real Estate Market!

Let?s start with a ?near-miss? I had recently that still said good things about the market.? As was reported in the news, Oprah Winfrey?s home at 199 E Lake Shore Drive, a beautiful Benjamin Marshall building as shown above, was on the market.? I had an interested client who went through and was close to making an offer.? Lo and behold, another client?s offer had been accepted after the home was only on the market for one day!

There is a lesson to be learned here - Although the unit sold for less than what Oprah paid for it, the speed with which it moved shows that the market is King, and when a home is priced properly it will get attention and a buyer will come.? It also shows that there are more and more buyers coming back out into the market.

As proof, yet another unit sold a little over a week ago in the 199 building.?( Perhaps this is also attributable to the lovingly executed rehab that John Buck?s company had performed on 199 East Lake Shore Drive as well.)? 209 East Lake Shore Drive, shown above, didn?t want to be left out of the party, and sure enough there was a recent purchase in the last 30 days at the 209 building, yet another of the famous Benjamin Marshall buildings along that block.

There are multiple ironies here:? both the buyer of Oprah?s unit and the buyers of the second unit had also come to showings at my listing at 999 North Lake Shore Drive!? Further, the 999 building, shown above, was also designed by Benjamin Marshall!

ATTN:? FALCON UPDATE!!
Hopefully you saw my Blog about the Peregrine Falcon that built a nest on the rooftop deck at my listing at Juanita Jordan?s home at 1100 North Lake Shore Drive.? By its leg band we learned its name was Ballistic and it had migrated to Chicago from Cleveland.? Ballistic was carefully mothering four eggs in one of Juanita?s flower boxes!? The photo above is from the CBS News report about Ballistic.

Well, I was having a showing there yesterday and when I quietly took my client up to the top floor of the unit, we looked through the window into the flowerbox and saw a Falcon sitting on the eggs as usual but off to the side there was a new baby Hatchling!

Something else surprised us ? as we looked at the baby in the nest, a second falcon came up and was sort of hovering over the deck and was giving us the eye through the window as it moved back and forth.? It looked just like the one in the photo above!? We came to learn that Falcons pair up, and the Dad does the egg sitting while the Mom goes out for food and protects the nest!? Thinking back, that Momma Falcon was not only being protective but I swear she was also proud about having us see her new baby!

So last week was big on both Real Estate and Animal Kingdom excitement as well!

What about those White Sox!

UC health economics research has found that publication of perceived risk linking the MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccine to autism in the late 1990s seemingly led to declines in the vaccination rate of children. This despite the fact that later studies refuted the existence of an MMR-autism link. New University of Cincinnati research has found that fewer parents in the United States vaccinated their children in the wake of concerns about a purported link (now widely discredited) between the MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccine and autism...

Manipulating chromatin loops to regulate genes may offer future treatments for blood diseases

ScienceDaily (June 7, 2012) ? In exploring how proteins interact with crucial DNA sequences to regulate gene activity, researchers have shed light on key biological events that may eventually be manipulated to provide new disease treatments.

Within a cell's nucleus, regulatory elements in DNA called promoters and enhancers communicate with each other in carrying out gene activity, often over large genomic distances, hundreds of thousands of chemical bases apart from each other in chromosomes. As these elements physically contact each other, the intervening DNA sequences bend into loops made of chromatin fiber -- the substance of chromosomes.

"Many researchers, including ourselves, have shown that chromatin looping is widespread during gene expression," said study leader Gerd A. Blobel, M.D., Ph.D., holder of the Frank E. Weise III Endowed Chair in Pediatric Hematology at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. "However, many details remain uncertain -- even whether chromatin loops are a cause or effect of gene transcription. Our current study investigated some of these fundamental questions."

Blobel and first author Wulan Deng, a Ph.D. student at the University of Pennsylvania, are publishing their study in the June 8, 2012 print edition of Cell.

The study focused on gene transcription -- the fundamental process by which information encoded in a gene's DNA is converted into RNA before the RNA information is translated into a protein.

Blobel and Deng used blood-forming cells in mice, studying a portion of DNA called the beta-globin locus that expresses part of the hemoglobin molecule. The study team already knew that a chromatin loop forms when a distant enhancer touches the promoter in the beta-globin gene and gives rise to gene expression. They did not know all the proteins that were necessary to generate chromatin loops, nor exactly how such proteins functionally interact with other proteins during gene transcription.

The study team sought to identify a looping factor, a protein that triggers chromatin looping. "We had a strong candidate for a looping factor -- a molecule called Ldb1," said Deng. In the current study, Blobel and Deng made use of a specialized tool--a genetically engineered DNA binding protein called a zinc finger (ZF) protein, designed to specifically latch onto a chosen gene location.

They attached Lbd1 to a ZF, thereby tethering it to the target site in the beta-globin promoter. This caused a chromatin loop to form between the enhancer and promoter and allowed high-level gene transcription to occur.

"We showed that Ldb1 is a key factor in these long-range chromatin interactions that drive gene expression," said Blobel. "Moreover, our results suggest that chromatin looping is a cause, not an effect, of gene transcription. We will further study whether and how we can use forced chromatin looping to manipulate gene expression for scientific or therapeutic purposes."

Potential therapeutic implications: "One possible application of forced chromatin looping," added Blobel, "might be in hemoglobin diseases. For example, hematologists have a long-standing goal of reactivating dormant fetal hemoglobin genes to benefit children and adults with sickle cell anemia. It is worth testing whether our approach might force cells to produce fetal hemoglobin and treat sickle cell disease." More broadly, he added, forced chromatin looping might also enable researchers to turn off the expression of specific genes known to drive particular diseases.

Financial support for this study came from the National Institutes of Health. Three co-authors with Blobel and Deng were employees of Sangamo BioSciences, Inc., of Richmond, Calif., which designed zinc finger proteins. In addition to their positions at Children's Hospital, Blobel and Deng also are in the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.

China looks to boost Internet limits on? | Advanced E-Commerce,E ...

SHANGHAI (AP) ? China plans to stiffen restrictions on Internet service providers as it seeks even greater control over the opinions voiced on the country?s lively microblogs and other web forums.

A list of proposed changes to Beijing?s Internet law released by the Cabinet on Thursday includes blogs, Twitter-like microblogs and online forums.

In December, China began requiring real name registration for nearly all microblog services on a city by city basis, though compliance has been patchy.

The latest regulations appear to be aimed at beefing up enforcement by requiring companies to cooperate with police and threatening criminal punishment and loss of business licenses for failure to comply.

The National Internet Information Office said in a statement Thursday that the requirement for microblogs helped curb illegal web activity and promote online trust and should be expanded to cover blogs and online discussion forums.

Companies providing such services must be licensed and must guarantee that those using them be registered with their real identities, say the guidelines.

The rules require Internet companies to keep logs for 12 months and to provide technical assistance to the police and national security agencies.

China has more than 500 million Internet users, the most of any country in the world. Internet sites that are deemed politically destabilizing or pornographic are routinely blocked, and the government blocked Twitter and Facebook after they were instrumental in anti-government protests in Iran two years ago.

It has instead encouraged homegrown alternatives in the apparent belief that domestic companies would be more responsive to government demands, but microblogs have been widely used to share information not available in the state media.

Authorities have been pressuring Internet companies to control them or risk losing the right to operate in a fast-growing market.

Late last month, the microblogging site Sina Weibo, which has more than 300 million registered users, introduced new rules that could see users banned for posting about sensitive political topics. In late March it banned commenting for three days amid a high-level political crisis.
