I tried using a novel writing software called ?WriteItNow?. The organization and stuff was great, but in the end, I returned to just plain old Microsoft Word. Because a good writer doesn?t need special software to help them (only for organization). A writer should know how to develop plots and characters and such. No author I know uses special software. Hell, J.K. Rowling wrote on napkins and used a typewriter!!

There are thousands of free articles online about how to write- you don?t need to bother paying for fancy software. If you?re just looking for some sort of game plan, so to speak, something that helped me a lot was the Snowflake Method ( http://www.advancedfictionwriting.com/art/snowflake.php )

Infinite,
If you have MS-Word, you?re good to go. It?s easy to use and I?ve used it to publish my novels with no problems. Plus, you don?t have to spend any extra money. Buy yourself a book on writing in general and one on dialogue. You can mark them up for future reference if you own them, and you?ll have just about everything you need right there.

You really do not need a novel writing programme if you have MS Word. It will do everything that you need in order to write anything so don?t waste your money.
